All film transfers done at CinePost are supervised from start to finish by a professional telecine operator with years of experience working on film restoration. The process begins with a prep technician who inspects your film, repairing bad or weak splices and cleaning as needed. When we transfer 16mm film to digital we use a customized Rank Cintel Turbo in conjunction with an industry-standard DaVinci Color Correction system. All our film transfers include use of the Wetgate Dirt & Scratch Concealment system at no extra cost. This is what we are famous for!
The Wetgate system not only cleans film in real-time, but it also fills in scratches with a non-harmful fluid during the transfer process so that their appearance is reduced if not altogether eliminated. Our 16mm film to digital transfers maintain the highest standards and we have plenty of examples on our site to showcase the quality we provide. We can provide the necessary format to fit the needs of your project, including ProRes HD, 2k, 4k, DPX, or something in between, we are here to help you get the best possible quality film transfer for your project.
